Art + Feminism is a global Wikimedia Project, which aims to address information gaps on Wikipedia and Wikidata. Cornell has hosted programming for Art + Feminism for over ten years. This year, in addition to opportunities to edit Wikipedia, Cornell University Library is hosting a community event at Tompkins County Public Library.

Join local librarians and Ithaca community members in this interactive workshop on Tuesday April 7 from 6:00pm - 7:15pm in BorgWarner East at the Tompkins County Public Library, and explore how data collection tools work and strategies for thoughtfully engaging with data archiving, preservation, and Wikidata. We will explore creative, art-based techniques for participating in data activism (visual art, zines, and more!), and discuss how these methods can be used to keep our community safe, informed, and critical in a time of misinformation. Craft materials will be supplied by the event hosts! All ages are welcome, and no data experience is required!

We will also be hosting the following events:

  • Data Feminism Panel Discussion at Olin Library, Room 107 on April 15 from 4:30pm-6:00pm
  • Wikipedia and Wikdata drop in: Become a Wikipedia editor, and get involved in this international effort to improve public knowledge of women in the arts by contributing to Wikipedia and Wikidata entries. Everyone is welcome! Pop-ups will be hosted on the following dates
    • April 21, 2026 from 2:30-4:30pm in Room 102, Mann Library
    • April 23, 2026 from 3:30pm-5:30pm in Room 108, Olin Library
