Join Albert Podell, the first American to visit every country on earth, for this fast-paced illustrated presentation based on his adventure-packed new book, Around the World in Fifty Years.

Podell’s book is described by Lonely Planet founder Tony Wheeler as being “like Crocodile Dundee produced by Monty Python and directed by Woody Allen,” and the presentation will follow suit. It’s designed to give the audience the sensation of being alongside Podell as he experienced and survived arduous travel, treacherous  roads, strange  accommodations, challenging food, diseased water, daunting injuries, wars, revolutions, bandits, earthquakes, flying crabs, and tiger sharks.

Podell is an engaging and witty public speaker. He also has an astute sense of outstanding photojournalism, and was the director of photography for several national publications and president of the American Society of Magazine Picture Editors.  He has reviewed the 55,000 photos he has taken around the world, selected the 500 most striking, beautiful, revealing, and interesting, and arranged those into a fast-moving 3000-second show that leaves the viewer with a whole new perspective on the world and how difficult it can be to get to see it all.

Podell will follow the presentation by answering questions about the show, his adventures, and the state of the world.
