Lecture and Workshop with Jeffrey Waldman of Base Design and Jennifer Grosso of Alloy Development

Jeffrey Waldman is a senior designer with Base Design, an international network of studios headquartered in New York City with offices in Brussels, Geneva, and Melbourne. Base specializes in strategy, identity, and digital design for a wide variety of clients including MoMA, the New York Times, and Foundation Louis Vuitton. As a senior designer, Waldman focuses on identity and digital design for clients in the fields of architecture, real estate, nonprofit, technology, and hospitality. After receiving his M.F.A. from RISD, Waldman worked at Pentagram, the world's largest independently-owned design studio, with clients from the fields of architecture, education, real estate, and fashion. He also teaches in the B.F.A. Communication Design Program at Parsons, The New School.

Jennifer Grosso (B.Arch. '13), AIA is a senior project manager at Alloy Development, a New York City-based real estate company known for its comprehensive approach to the development process and direct engagement with the communities it works within. Grosso is currently leading the design and architecture team for a large, mixed-use project in downtown Brooklyn. She is a board member at Architexx, a women in architecture advocacy group, and on the Urban Land Institute Young Leaders Group Programming Committee. Prior to Alloy, Grosso practiced architecture at SOM, leading projects including 35 Hudson Yards and 1865 Broadway.

Portfolio Critiques
10 a.m.–12:30 p.m., Abby and Howard Milstein Auditorium, Milstein Hall

Architecture faculty and guest lecturers from Alloy and Base will meet in groups to critique submitted portfolios in a public forum.

Eligible Students:
Thesis
Eighth-semester B.Arch.
Sixth-semester M.Arch.
Third-semester M.S. AAD

Eligible students must submit a portfolio electronically by 12 p.m. on Wednesday, January 29. Students are responsible for printing their own portfolios. Students must pin-up their materials by 4:30 p.m. on Friday, January 31.
