Arbor Day Tree Walk

Friday, April 26, 2019 at 4:00pm to 5:00pm

Brian C. Nevin Welcome Center
124 Comstock Knoll Road, Ithaca, NY 14850

Celebrate Arbor Day with a walk amongst the specimen trees of the Botanic Gardens. The walk will introduce some long-standing resident trees of the gardens, including tuliptree, dawn redwood, Japanese umbrella pine, zelkova, cornelian cherry dogwood and more. We’ll conclude with a celebration of a much beloved tree in our Groundcover Collection: the bigleaf magnolia (Magnolia macrophylla). This seedling is the offspring of the tree that was originally planted here in 1963, but was removed due to disease and structural issues. This young tree was carefully tended in our nursery and is now being returned to our collection. Come help us welcome it back!
