Active learning encompasses a variety of teaching techniques that help students process and practice what they are learning. If you are new to active learning or have tried it before and are looking for creative ideas to energize and deepen learning in your classroom, this three-session institute will help you through the process of designing learning activities that work for your discipline. 

Sessions will take place from 10:00 - 11:30 a.m. on the following Tuesdays in June 2023:

• June 13: Learn principles for how learning happens. Design activities to help information stick.
• June 20: Design processing and practicing activities.
• June 27: Create a class agenda with a balance of lecturing and active learning. Discuss how to foster a positive classroom community for active learning.
