Cornell University

By envisioning new ways of thinking about food, this symposium hopes to inspire new ‘food for thought’ across disciplines including agriculture, food safety, engineering, information and computer science, biology, business and the social sciences.

This year our symposium will address DA as a tool for climate readiness across several smaller topics. There will be four sessions and a lunchtime keynote featuring speakers from academia, industry, non-profits, and diverse private sector enterprises:

9:15-10:45 am: Agtech innovation ecosystems for social impact

11 am-12:30 pm: Controlled Environment Agriculture (CEA) approaches toward a more resilient food system

1:45-3:15 pm: Carbon solutions

3:30-5 pm: Development, translation, and adoption of digital agriculture in NYS and beyond

Our global agriculture and food systems require a radical transformation that will require a convergence of thinkers, stakeholders, and practitioners from agriculture, food safety, engineering, information and computer science, biology, business and the social sciences. This Symposium showcases new ideas and research that inspires learning, catalyzes innovation, and integrates fundamental discoveries to achieve new levels of sustainability in agri-food systems.
