DATE: Saturday, April 29th
LOCATION: Cornell Cooperative Extension Cayuga County,
248 Grant Avenue, Auburn, NY
TIME: 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
In the canine sport of Rally/Rally Obedience, the dog and handler complete a course following signs and doing the exercise on each sign. Rally can be a lot of fun and offers you and your canine partner challenges as well. Knowing and understanding the rules and principles of Rally allows the handler to be able to assist the dog in doing its best; which in turn then helps both the dog and handler have a good time. This workshop will encourage the dog in doing its best; which in turn then helps both the dog and handler have a good time. This workshop will focus on Novice level Rally but all levels benefit from the seminar and questions for all levels will be answered.
What does that sign tell me to do?
What are some of the clues that help me understand what the sign
is telling me to do?
What does my dog have to know to successfully compete in Rally?
How do I navigate from one sign to the other?
Are some mistakes “bigger” than others? What do I do if I know we made a mistake doing a sign?
How am I scored? What does time have to do with it?
These and many other questions will be answered by our presenter: Penny Hanes, an AKC, ASCA, & UKC Rally Judge who has judged 4-H Rally at the State Fair 3 times since 2006.
