https://reg.cce.cornell.edu/wintersymposium-2_209The Clinton County 4-H Winter Symposium is an opportunity for youth to learn about poultry, beef/dairy, sheep, goats, pig, rabbit, horse and cavies and earn animal points towards showing a specific species in the fair. Please arrive by 8:45am for registration so the first session can start promptly at 9am. The day is broken up into two parts, morning and afternoon. You will earn a point for each session you enter. At minimum you must stay for the whole morning session or afternoon session to earn points. The day offers classes for Cloverbuds and Junior/Seniors. The first session is for everyone
9:00-9:20am Introduction for all with pet workshop (TBD)
Junior/Senior
9:25-10:05 Session I classes- Cow-beef & Dairy or Rabbit Health/Necropsy
10:10-10:40 Session II classes-Poultry: Raising Pigeons or K-9 workshop
10:45 -11:25 Session III classes- Horse or Milking Goats/Sheep
11:30-12:10 Session IV Swine or Rabbit Genetics
12:10-12:40 Session V- Hay session: Learn about hay for all species
12:30-1:10 LUNCH
1:10-1:50 Session VI classes- Poultry Disease with Janet Collier or Dairy Workshop
2:15-3:00 Session VII classes- Goats/Sheep: Birthing or Poultry Knowledge Session
Cloverbud
9:30-12:30pm Hands on/active learning about Dogs, Sheep/Goats, Poultry, Rabbits/Cavies in classes designed just for cloverbuds. There will be a snack and break part way through.
