The Outstanding Achievement Award recognizes up to 4 youth – one from each of the following project groups (highlighted below) For outstanding work and accomplishments in their project(s).  4-H reserves the right to not select/award a youth if outstanding scoring qualifications are not met.

Applicants should be earning several Project Medals to be considered for these awards.

Emphasis is placed on growth and advancement in their project area(s), as well as personal growth in terms of leadership, community service and sharing 4-H experiences with others. 

Example: An Outstanding candidate should be earning several medals within the 4 different project areas.

Creative Science  Environmental Science  Personal Development  Animal Science

Or

The youth may earn an award because of outstanding accomplishments within one category.

Application due by October 31st.  Face to Face Veterans Day interview required. Interviews typically done before Noon.

1. Outstanding Personal Development:  Awarded 4-H Capital Days in Albany for youth 14 and older plus $100 Gift Certificate to Walmart 

2. Outstanding Creative Science $100 Joann Fabric and Craft Gift Certificate

3. Environmental Science- $100 Runnings Gift Certificate 

3. Outstanding Animal Science- $100 Tractor Supply Gift Certificate  

Below are examples of award trips that may be additionally awarded. 

(2,3,4 choose one of the following): 4-H Career Explorations at Cornell University - “University U” for youth entering 8th & 9th grades, “Focus for Teens” for youth entering 10th to 12th grades.  Teen Winter Weekend ages 13+, ABC Trip ages 14+, STARR ages 13+, NY State Forestry Program ages 10+). Additional youth will earn prizes and gift certificates.
