Future of workplace: building culture and community of workplace by design: A pedagogical partnership Between Cornell HCD & MillerKnoll. 

Work environments have cultural, health, performance and economic implications for workers' society, community, and organizations. THe workplace has transformed during the post pandemic era. The social and cultural elements of the workplace are in flux and the vision for the future workplace offers an opportunity for innovation and transformation.

DEA 3530 is a hands-on hybrid research and design course. Throughout the class students have listened to keynote speakers from Miller Knoll, a design firm that has chosen to partner with Cornell to create new paradigms and innovation when building a workplace. Students have taken the opportunity to interview professionals from a varying range of industry, to inquire on their company design strategies and responses. 

Cornell students will participate in a day of innovation where MillerKnoll will visit in person. Student teams have formed startups to address related topics related to the challenge and with mentorship of the industry leaders will  envision and co-create typologies for the “future workplace.”
