What I Wish I'd Known About Mentoring Before Becoming a Faculty Member
Wednesday, January 30, 2013 at 12:00pm to 2:00pm
ILR Conference Center, 225
This event kicks off a new series aimed at graduate students and postdocs considering academic careers in natural and social sciences, technology, engineering, and mathematics. It includes free lunch and a panel discussion with experienced faculty and staff sharing expertise on mentoring undergraduates in research, as well as making the transition to supervising graduate students, postdocs, and lab technicians.
The "Building Mentoring Skills for a Career in Academia" series will meet on alternate Wednesdays from 12-2pm in the ILR Conference Center (King-Shaw Hall). You can attend individual sessions of interest or a block of related sessions to dig deeper into a topic and start earning credit towards new graduate student and postdoc certificate programs from the Center for the Integration of Research, Teaching, and Learning (CU-CIRTL). Sessions will be held on 1/30, 2/13, 2/27, 3/13, 3/27, 4/10, and 4/24. RSVP requested.
