Seeking to bring awareness to the issues of sexual assault, relationship violence, stalking and gender based violence, this exhibit features work in various media created by artists in a collaborative, creative process with “thrivers”—a term that has been chosen to replace the term survivors. The exhibit celebrates the power of art to inspire those who have suffered emotional and physical trauma to see their beauty and find their strength to live the lives they have always wanted. It also hopes to give the community an opportunity to better understand and support thrivers. This project is a reflection of the Cornell Women’s Resource Center’s commitment to championing shifts in language and culture to stop gender based violent behavior.
