With Zuzana Maurery, Peter Bebjak, Monika Certezni
Maria Drazdechova, a teacher at a Bratislavan school in 1983, makes no secret of her connections within the Communist Party. She also thinks nothing of asking her students what their parents do for a living, as she'll likely want to make use of their services. Most parents are willing to oblige, as it seems there may be a connection between their efforts and their children's grades. From the director of Divided We Fall (2000), Jan Hrebejk's latest takes a comedic look at corruption and complicity in Communist Yugoslavia. Subtitled. More at Cosponsored with the Institute for European Studies.
