Shobha Vanchiswar is a writer, poet, artist, and award-winning garden designer in Westchester, NY. Her recent book of poems The Lucky Ones was inspired by her visit to the orphanages in India that house HIV-infected children, which was sponsored by the Clinton Foundation. The lecture will consist of a discussion of HIV in India, a slideshow and anecdotes of the orphanages visited, and readings of several poems from the book. The event will be hosted by Phi Sigma Pi National Honor Fraternity. All are welcome and encouraged to attend.
