an afternoon of screenings and discussion with Berlinale programmer Uli Ziemons on the work of American filmmaker George Kuchar

 

Berlin International Film Festival programmer Ulrich Ziemons will offer screenings and discussion of the diary films of the late great American filmmaker, George Kuchar from 2:30 - 4:25 in Schwartz Center SB12.  Ziemons will also discuss his role a programmer for one of the world's greatest film festivals, the Berlinale.

 

Ziemons is a film curator, writer and film scholar. He studied Media Studies in Bochum and Potsdam, where he graduated with a thesis on George Kuchar's Weather Diaries. Since 2006, he has worked in various capacities for the International Forum of New Cinema at the Berlin Interntional Film Festival. He is a member of the curatorial team of the Forum Expanded program of the Berlinale. He has curated programs for Arsenal - Institute for Film and Video Art, KW - Institute for Contemporary Art, as well as for the 2010 Berlin Biennial. He is currently preparing the first German language publication on George Kuchar.

 

The event is FREE and open to the public.
