Mr. Petter A. Stordalen is the sole owner and CEO of Home Invest, a company comprised of Nordic Choice Hotels, Home Properties and Home Capital. A merchant’s son from the small Norwegian town of Porsgrunn, Petter A. Stordalen first tasted success at age 12 when he was voted Norway’s top strawberry seller. In 15 years, starting with two hotels and 350 employees, Mr. Stordalen has built the largest hotel company in Scandinavia. Today, Nordic Choice Hotels has 12,000 colleagues, 5 hotel chains, and a collection of independent hotels and resorts; 9 unique properties, a total of 14 brands, 170 hotels and a yearly turnover of 1.2 billion USD; a tripled revenue growth since 1998. Nordic Choice invests heavily in its corporate and social responsibility program, founded on the triple bottom line philosophy (people/planet/profit), with its vision for a more sustainable capitalism. The program targets guests, employees and the broader public.

Mr. Stordalen is passionate about the environment and is a strong supporter of sustainability in all of his pursuits. Through The Stordalen Foundation, he and his wife, Dr. Gunhild Stordalen, a renowned environmentalist, are strong supporters of charitable organizations within environment/climate change and scientific research programs.

Mr. Stordalen was named Entrepreneur of the Year in 2010 by Ernst & Young.
