Join the Cornell Republicans for an in-depth discussion about the Syrian Revolution from the perspective of Syrian rebels. Our speaker, Muna Jondy, will address the Revolution's development thus far, the role of the U.S. and the international community as it progresses, and other relevant issues. The event is co-sponsored by the Department of Government, Department of Near Eastern Studies, and Einaudi Center for International Studies.
Ms. Jondy is the co-founder and current president of the Syrian Americanorganization United for a Free Syria (UFS). She currently serves as a member of the Syrian National Council's General Secretariat. She has consistently been involved with the Syrian opposition's activities since the onset of the uprising via organizations that include the Syrian Revolution General Commission, Watan, and United for a Free Syria.
Ms. Jondy has worked to deliver satellite phones to Syrian rebels and curate Shaam News Network, one of the Syrian Revolution's most popular websites which provides the latest news, videos, and reports emerging from the ground in Syria in order to inform the international community.
