Annual Field Day held at the Musgrave Research Farm in Aurora, NY. 

Program Schedule:

2017 Crop development and management overview, winter wheat in transition to organic crop rotations  Bill Cox (20 min)

Integrated disease management in wheat and malting barley Gary Bergstrom and Jaime Cummings, (20 min) [view variety x fungicide plots of winter wheat, winter malting barley, and spring malting barley]

Economics of growing malting barley in New York, John Hanchar (15 min)

Small grain breeding, varieties, and availability of seed, Mark Sorrells, David Benscher, Daniel Sweeney, Phil Atkins  (20 min)

Growing hybrid rye for feed, beverage, and food markets, Claus Nymand of KWS Cereals, USA and Canada  (15 min) [will have potted plants to view]

Perennial grains in New York: Kernza and Perennial Rye, Matt Ryan, Sandra Wayman, and Eugene Law (10 min) [will have potted plants to view]

Updates and comments from attendees, (20 min.) [incl. market conditions, new products and services]
