Scything: Make a Scythe & Learn to Mow

Saturday, July 8, 2017 at 9:00am to 2:00pm

Groundswell’s Incubator Farm, 115 Rachel Carson Way, Ithaca, NY 14850

Students will make a simple one handed snath (handle) to fit a blade they bring or purchase from Groundswell. Snath design and assembly will be made simpler so that more time can be applied to mowing. Ring clasps will be purchased and handles will be attached with a hanger bolt.

Materials needed: Scythe blade, ring clasps, whetstone, whetstone holder. If you plan to bring all of these items we will waive the Materials fee ($90). (Pay just the Course Fee)

If you want to purchase tools independently, they can be bought from Scytheworks.ca, www.lehmans.com or onescytherevolution.comhowlandtools.com, or scythesupply.com.

This course is limited to 10 people.
