Abhinavagupta was one of the most influential literary, cognitive, and ritual theorists in the Sanskrit tradition, whose work has long generated and continues to generate major scholarly interest both in the field of South Asian Studies and in wider circles. The conference will be of interest to students and faculty whose work relates to classical, comparative, or world philosophy, poetry, aesthetics, dramaturgy, ritual theory, and scriptural or general hermeneutics.
