Sexual violence prevention has taken many forms in the past half-century, including gender specific programming and bystander intervention training. All of it has proven to be insufficient as a means to prevent sexual violence. In this talk we will discuss an additional public health approach at Cornell, which empowers students to design environmental interventions within their communities to create positive social norms that improve and change the culture, while simultaneously reducing the risk of sexual violence.
