Margaret Tobin is the Executive Director of the New York Works Task Force. With professional
experience in project finance, real estate development and economic development, she brings both public and private sector expertise to New York State government. Ms. Tobin is an expert in large-scale projects with complex financial, legal, and political challenges. While serving in the New York City Mayor's Office of Finance and Economic Development, she oversaw major redevelopment projects including the Brooklyn Navy Yard, Staten Island Homeport, and Renaissance Marriott Hotel. As the EVP & CFO of the Hudson River Park Conservancy she led the successful development of the Hudson River Park, the first new park in New York City in a generation, and negotiated the lease to create the highly successful Chelsea Piers Sports & Entertainment Complex. As a senior real estate executive at Vornado Realty Trust and Thor Equities, Ms. Tobin developed more than 60 projects in office, hotel, retail, and mixed use developments.
Ms. Tobin earned an M.B.A. from Stanford University, and an A.B. in American History from Vassar College.
