NYC Cornellians: Sandy Relief for Breezy Point - Volunteer Tree Planting
Join NYC Cornellians and help restore Breezy Point in Queens, NY! We will assist Breezy Point residents plant trees in their yards. Small trees (abot 3 - 4') are provided by MillionTreesNYC/NY Resotration Project to Cornell University Cooperative Extension - NYC and Habitat for Humanity. Help revitalize this Sandy-damaged neighborhood.
Please remember to dress warmly (Cornell gear if you have it!), as we will be working outdoors. Teens and adults only (we are using shovels, so no children please).
We will run a shuttle in a personal vehicle from the Q35 bus stop on Beach 169th Street to the work site, providing 2 runs, leaving at 11:20 and 11:40 am, and 2 return runs at approximately 3:30 and 3:50 pm.
Lunch and water will be provided and a demonstration on proper tree planting beginning promptly at 12 Noon
