NEW YORK GENOME CENTER: Large-Scale Genomics and Bioinformatics Services and Opportunities for Collaboration
Tuesday, June 26, 2012 at 12:00pm to 1:00pm
James Law Aud Vet School
The New York Genome Center (NYGC) is an exciting new venture between 11 institutions, including Cornell University. NYGC’s mission is to transform research in New York and beyond through the creation of what will become one of the largest bioinformatics and genomics facilities in North America. The NYGC is an independent, non-profit organization that leverages the collaborative resources of leading academic medical centers, research universities, and commercial organizations. The NYGC will facilitate basic research, help advance genomic medicine, and provide an engine for life science commercialization in the region. NYGC will soon be launching its services, including whole genome sequencing, exome sequencing, and RNA-seq. These services will be expanded next year when NYGC opens its permanent facility. This seminar will present the NYGC's services and opportunities for collaboration.
This presentation is part of the Life Sciences Advanced Technology Seminar series sponsored by the Cornell University Life Sciences Core Laboratories Center (CLC). For more information about this seminar series, please contact George Grills at gsg34@cornell.edu.
Advance registration for this seminar about the NYGC is requested but not required. To register in advance, please contact Zane Wruble at zwruble@nygenome.org.
