Its Mysterious Life: An Appreciation of Beetles

Tuesday, November 13, 2018 at 8:00am to 5:00pm

More dates through January 31, 2019

Mann Library, 1st Floor (Top Shelf Gallery)
Cornell University Mann Library, Cornell University, Ithaca, NY 14853, USA

They are earth’s natural jewels. An assortment of beetles exquisitely rendered in sculpted paper for a new exhibit by artist Carla DeMello will convince you of nothing less. Drop by the Top Shelf Gallery at Mann Library this winter for an eye-opening look at the mysterious beauty to be found when we look down to the six-footed creatures among us.

Carla Elizabeth DeMello is an Ithaca, NY artist. All her life, she’s worked and played with any material that catches her eye—colorful, sticky, natural, malleable, goopy, or beautiful. These paper sculptures pay tribute to the beetles of our world.
