Mark Bittman, celebrated New York Times food columnist, best-selling cookbook author, and writer on issues ranging from factory farming to gun control, will visit Cornell March 4-8 as the Sevin Fellow for 2012-13. Bittman's cookbook How To Cook Everything has had a huge popular following since it first appeared almost fifteen years ago; its companion How to Cook Everything Vegetarian appeared in 2007. He is also well known for his incisive writing on the moral, environmental, political, and economic issues connected with food. His book Food Matters: A Guide to Conscious Eatingsheds important light on issues that have become central to our personal lives, our national political discourse, and the global economy.
