Machine Learning with MATLAB Workshop

Monday, April 16, 2018 at 6:30pm to 7:30pm

Malott Hall, 228

What: Machine Learning with MATLAB Workshop
When: Monday, April 16, 2018 from 6:30 to 7:30 PM
Where: Malott 228

Learn how to get started using machine learning tools to detect patterns and build predictive models from your datasets. At this workshop, you will learn about several machine learning techniques available in MATLAB and how to quickly explore your data, evaluate machine learning algorithms, compare the results, and apply the best machine learning for your problem. There will be giveaways and pizza!

Please RSVP to the Facebook event and remember to bring your laptop if you would like to follow along with the demo! If you need accommodations to participate in this event, please contact mmh256@cornell.edu as soon as possible.

Highlights include using the Classification Learner app and functions in the Statistics and Machine Learning Toolbox to perform common machine learning tasks such as:
-Feature selection and feature transformation
-Training a range of classification models, including support vector machines (SVMs) and k-nearest neighbors
-Performing model assessment and model comparisons using confusion matrices to help choose the best model for your data
-Integrating trained models into applications such as computer vision, signal processing, and data analytics.
