Cathy Caruth’s Unclaimed Experience: Trauma, Narrative, and History, first published in 1996, celebrated its 20th anniversary last year. To mark the occasion, Theory Reading Group will host a conference entitled, “Listening to Trauma,” which brings together Caruth’s past students and colleagues whose work has been influenced by her two decades of teaching and writing about trauma.
