On the occasion of the retirement of Professor Elizabeth "Lisa" Earle, the Office of the Ronald P. Lynch Dean of the College of Agriculture & Life Sciences, the Department of Plant Breeding & Genetics, the Office of International Programs, and the Field of Plant Biology are hosting a retirement celebration symposium and reception.
Lisa’s long-term commitment and contributions to the Plant Breeding Department, and across the University deserve special recognition. For over forty years, Dr. Earle has played a significant role in plant breeding and biotechnology at Cornell, as a researcher, professor, and chair of the Department of Plant Breeding and Genetics.
The “Biotechnology and the World” Symposium will start at 1PM and will feature the following speakers:
1. Alan McHughen, D.Phil., Plant Biotechnologist, University of California at Riverside and author of “Pandora’s Picnic Basket”
2. Adelheid Kuehnle, PhD, President and CEO, Co-Founder of Kuehnle AgroSystems, Inc.
3. Tony Shelton, Professor and International Professor, Department of Entomology, Cornell University
The symposium will be followed by a reception from 3:30 –5:30, with remarks by Dr. Earle's colleagues and friends at 4:15. There will be drinks and hors d'oeuvres.
All members of the Cornell community are invited.
