Leverage the Power of Video Storytelling to Earn Employee Attention & Ignite a Winning Spirit

Thursday, March 23, 2017 at 12:00pm

online

Jordan Berman '95, Founder and CEO of OFC:  Office Channel (OFC.tv)

Cat videos have conquered the coffee break! Nielsen reports that 2pm is the peak for online video viewing, fueled by a new generation of connected professionals consuming YouTube videos in place of donuts during their workday respite.  This "YouCube" phenomenon has raised the bar for earning employee attention, with digital distractions stealing mindshare from the never ending cascade of company emails, newsletters and intranet sites that go unread and unvisited.

Savvy HR and Corporate Communication professionals are recognizing the need to inject entertainment value into training and culture as they shift from data dumping to enterprise storytelling, enabled by the visceral power of video.  Learn how leading companies like PepsiCo, Unilever, AT&T, Darden Restaurants and OnDeck Financial make workplace video work with a focus on the 3P Pillars: Programming, Promotion, Platform.

This seminar will help you leverage the power of video storytelling to earn employee attention and ignite a winning spirit via the following:

  • Link employee work with consumer feedback in surprising ways to build a customer-centric team.
  • Unleash employee generated content to surface authentic stories of success and shared purpose.
  • Fuse office culture and pop culture to win employee hearts and minds around important stuff they usually ignore.
  • Earn the attention of multi-tasking Millennial employees when they'd rather watch cat videos during the digital coffee break.

Presenter:

Jordan Berman (BS ILR '95) lives according to the words he uncovered years ago, nestled within the crunchy confines of a fortune cookie: “One must dare to be himself, however frightening or strange that self may prove to be.”  Jordan is a storyteller, strategist, producer, entrepreneur, and idea guy.  He’s also a dad, drummer, dog owner, and devotee to all things digital.  Jordan currently expresses his passion for “inspiring the uninspired” as Founder & CEO of OFC: Office Channel (OFC.tv), a strategic communications agency and creative production studio.  OFC’s specialty is producing “cubicle size reality TV” that injects entertainment value into culture and training to maximize engagement one cube at a time.  Clients include PepsiCo, Unilever, AT&T and Olive Garden.

Jordan is an entertainment refugee, having previously served as SVP of Integrated Marketing at MTV, and Director of Promotions & Online Marketing at Showtime.  He also shaped AT&T’s mobile video strategy as VP of Media Innovation, and helped launch the DeWalt brand as a member of Black & Decker’s event marketing team, where it’s estimated he drilled over 10,000 holes while demoing DeWalt’s awesome 18 volt cordless drill!  Jordan spent time as an Account Executive at the Lois and DDB ad agencies, where he realized a childhood dream of marketing the famed Atari brand after its acquisition by Jordan’s client, Hasbro.  Jordan has a BS in Industrial & Labor Relations from Cornell and an MBA in Marketing from NYU.  He lives in Pennington, NJ with his wife, 2 sons, a dog, and a rotation of goldfish that have a penchant for premature expiration.
