Did you leave the workforce for family reasons and are you ready to jump back in?

Our interactive panel will discuss how to identify and achieve career goals that make sense for you.

Panelists:

Jill Bicks, Marti Fischer and Suzette Simon Rubinstein

Jill Bicks is a Member of Pullman & Comley LLC, practicing family law in New York and Connecticut.  Jill clerked for the Hon. Robert J. Kelleher and handled complex litigation at Dewey Ballantine.  Jill’s pro bono work in domestic violence led her to focus on family law, first with Adria S. Hillman in New York, and upon moving to Connecticut, as director of a children’s advocacy program in Stamford Court.  When that program lost funding, Jill founded and served as Executive Director of a new non-profit, Child Advocates of CT, to keep it going. Jill is a consultant to the hit HBO series "Divorce" starring Sarah Jessica Parker.  She is recognized as a “10 Best” attorney in Connecticut for providing clients with cost-effective and sophisticated representation.  Jill credits her early ILR training in alternative dispute resolution for this honor. Jill earned her B.S. from Cornell’s ILR School in 1985 and her J.D. from NYU School of Law in 1988.

Marti Fischer is principal at Marti Fischer Group, LLC. As a consultant and executive coach she helps individuals and organizations strategically position their assets and effectively communicate their value in a fast moving world. For organizations it means improving the narrative to effectively position and communicate value and raise more money. Individuals work with Marti to position their skills, get the jobs they want and excel as leaders. She is co-author of ‘The Nonprofit Consultant’s Playbook’ and author of the upcoming ‘Classroom to Cubicle: What to know and do to get an internship and then a job’. Marti earned her B.A. from Sarah Lawrence College.

Suzette Simon Rubinstein practiced employment law at Jackson Lewis Schnitzler & Krupman from 1989-93 and was in house counsel at Unilever United States from 1993-94.  Suzette entered the legal search profession in 1994.  She was Managing Director of Smythe Masterson & Judd from 1994-2008, and has been Executive Managing Director of The Artemis Group since January 2008.  Suzette places groups and individual partners and associates at law firms, and in house counsel, including general counsels, at companies in finance, media, technology and other industries. She is a Member of the ILRAA Board of Directors and Guest Lecturer/Advisor to the Fordham Fashion Law Institute.  Suzette earned her B.S. from Cornell’s ILR School in 1986 and her J.D. from Fordham University School of Law in 1989.
