Hip Hop Panel Discussion

Friday, April 5, 2013 at 2:00pm to 4:00pm

Willard Straight Hall, Cornell Cinema Theater Central Campus

Please join us for an event celebrating Cornell University Library’s new exhibition Now Scream!

The panel discussion features visiting scholar DJ Afrika Bambaataa, MC Sha-Rock of the Funky 4 Plus 1 More (Hip Hop's 1st influential female MC), Rahiem of Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five (the first Hip Hop group inducted into the Rock 'N Roll Hall of Fame), and filmmaker Timothy C. Brown Sr. (who shot the earliest known footage of a Hip Hop performance in 1977, featuring the Funky 4 and others). The audience at this event will be treated to the FIRST PUBLIC SCREENING EVER of this raw, unedited footage. Click here for more info.

Visit Hip Hop: Unbound from the Underground to see all events taking place during the weekend.

The exhibition and associated events are funded by the generous support of the Stephen ’58, MBA ’59 and Evalyn Edwards ’60 Milman Exhibition Fund, Ronni Lacroute ’66, Johan Kugelberg, and Jon A. and Virginia Lindseth ’56.
