Ithaca Premiere w/ filmmaker Matias Pineiro in person!

2016 > Argentina/USA > Directed by Mat¡as Pineiro
With Agustina Munoz, Mar¡a Villar, Mati Diop
Pineiro continues his series of films based on Shakespeare's heroines with this riff on "A Midsummer Night's Dream." Argentinian Camila moves to NYC to work on a Spanish translation of the "Dream," and finds herself experiencing "a constellation of shifting relationships (an old flame, a new one, a long-lost relative)." (Film at Lincoln Center) "Filming cityscapes and intimate gestures with avid attention, adorning the dialogue with deep confessions and witty asides, Pineiro conjures a cogently realistic yet gloriously imaginative vision of youthful ardor in love and art alike." (Richard Brody, The New Yorker) Subtitled. More at kinolorber.com/film/view/id/2650 Presented as part of the Cine con Cultura Film Festival.
