Free Speech on Campus | Erwin Chemerinsky

Monday, November 20, 2017 at 6:30pm to 8:00pm

Alice Statler Auditorium
7 East Ave, Ithaca, NY 14850, USA

Controversial speakers and their opponents have entangled campuses across the country in fraught, sometimes violent clashes. When speakers with provocative or biased viewpoints come knocking, should universities welcome them and safeguard their right to speak?

Erwin Chemerinsky, dean of Berkeley Law at the University of California and co-author of the book “Free Speech on Campus,” brings a reasoned, scholarly perspective to a polarizing topic that has divided university campuses and the country.

The lecture will be livestreamed on CornellCast.
