The dual agenda that links diversity and engagement might be thought of as a commitment to full participation. It is a commitment to a theory of action in which equality is at the core of integration and reflection on knowledge generated in the real world situations of our research, learning, and work together. Please join A.T. Miller for a conversation that will examine the ways that diversity and engagement initiatives often flirt with each other and discuss methods for declaring our true intentions!
A.T. Miller currently is the Associate Vice Provost for Academic Diversity Initiatives for Cornell University. He served as Faculty Director of the Center for Global and Intercultural Study and Coordinator of Multicultural Teaching and Learning at the University of Michigan from 2000-2011, and Director of Africana Studies at Union College from 1992-2000. He received his PhD in American Civilization from the University of Pennsylvania and his A.B. from Davidson College in North Carolina.
Space is limited for this talk. Please RSVP to firstname.lastname@example.org if you are interested in attending.
