Cognitive neuroscience has many issues with respect to the field of neuroethtics. It can help with some current ethical dilemmas such as does the human embryo have the moral status of a born human? This issue was exhaustively considered 10 years ago during the initial debate concerning biomedical cloning.

Today, the issue continues but is discussed in light of new advances in stem cell research. It is an example of a societal issue where psychological and biological science, policy and the law come together. Dr. Gazzaniga will present a case history.
