Professor Swetnam-Burland teaches courses on Greek and Roman art and Archaeology at The College of William & Mary. Her particular interests lie in painting, sculpture, the ancient city of Pompeii and the Roman cult of Isis and ancient 'Egyptomania'. Her current book project is 'Imagining Egypt: Roman art and the invention of the foreign."
