Cornell University’s recipe for barbeque chicken goes back to 1955. This recipe, used for many Sullivan County chicken barbeque fundraisers, is famous for its simple ingredients and bold flavor. The traditional preparation method includes slow grilling chicken halves to perfection, basted in layers of the “secret” sauce.
Cornell Cooperative Extension Sullivan County (CCESC) is bringing back its popular chicken on Saturday, September 16, 2017 at the Cornell Country BBQ & Live Auction, to be held at the Extension Education Center on 64 Ferndale-Loomis Road in Liberty.
The public can take out dinner from 4:00 to 5:30 pm, or sit down at 6:00 pm to enjoy an outdoor evening of live music, raffles, 50/50, and good company! At 6:45 pm Eddie Moran, Jr., local farmer and professional auctioneer will lead the crowd in a live auction of homemade and home grown items from the Sullivan Catskills, with something – and price points – for everyone. Guests at the outdoor event will be entered to win a door prize.
Tickets are only $20 to attend the full event, or $15 for take-out. Non-refundable payment can be made in advance by check, cash, or credit; by calling CCESC at 845-292-6180, emailing email@example.com, or visiting www.sullivancce.org.
Proceeds from the Cornell Country BBQ & Live Auction fundraiser will go towards providing education and technical assistance to farmers, families, and youth across diverse audiences in Sullivan County. Additional donations for CCESC programs are appreciated.
