Cayuga’s Writers: Celebrating Cornell poets and fiction writers
Friday, June 8, 2012 at 1:00pm to 2:00pm
Olin Library, Current Periodicals Reading Room, Level One Olin Library, Ithaca, NY 14850, USA
“One place to dwell…” Cornell Poets on Cornell & Ithaca is an exhibit in Olin Library’s lobby. The display features six Cornell poets, from A.R. Ammons to Lyrae Van Clief-Stefanon, whose work has garnered substantial recognition among critics and peers. Each poet is represented through a poem that takes the physical location of the Cornell campus or its natural surroundings as a vantage point from which to examine both the outer and the inner life, mapping the metaphysical borderland that merges personal experience with human consciousness on a universal scale.
Fred Muratori, “One place to dwell” exhibition curator, poet, and English-language literature librarian, will discuss exhibition materials and survey creative work by famous Cornell authors.
