Captured with Colored Pencil: Design and Contrasts in Nature

Sunday, November 15, 2015 at 9:00am to 5:00pm

Brian C. Nevin Welcome Center
124 Comstock Knoll Road, Ithaca, NY 14850

In this two-day intensive workshop with guest artist Rhonda Nass, you’ll create unique colored pencil works on dark paper using natural designs. Participants will choose their own subject to draw, then excerpt and magnify a portion of that subject for the background. We’ll cover different colored pencil application techniques and focus on “reverse grisaille”— a dramatic and effective way to communicate your ideas. This workshop is presented in partnership with the Guild of Natural Science Illustrators (GNSI), Finger Lakes Chapter
