Mohawk Fabric Company: From High-Risk to High-Value Supplier

Wednesday, February 20, 2019 at 12:20pm to 1:10pm

Mohawk Fabric Company has gone from being considered a high-risk supplier in the aerospace industry to a high-value supplier in only ten years through visionary leadership, a commitment to capital reinvestment, and a genuine concern for the human dimension of manufacturing.  The owner and President of Mohawk Fabric Company, Dominic Wade, purchased a company in 2008 that was resting on the laurels of past accomplishments and was slowly moving toward a similar fate of the once proud textile industry in Amsterdam, NY.  Dominic took lessons that he learned from growing up in a family of business men and women, from his MBA at LeHigh University, and from his eight years of serving in the US Army and developed a ten-year plan to revitalize a company that was considered a high-risk supplier in an industry that was extremely risk averse.  By building a team of committed employees, empowering them to make decisions, resourcing their ideas, and keeping the company focused on the future, Dominic has successfully positioned Mohawk Fabric Company as a high-value supplier in our market with a vision for future growth in other markets.
