Autonomous pest control in the coffee agroecosystem of Mexico

Thursday, March 16, 2017 at 12:20pm to 1:10pm

Emerson Hall, 135

Three major pests have been in evidence throughout the coffee producing regions of Mexico and Central America in recent history.  Work over the past 15 years has uncovered a complicated network of ecological interactions that are involved in normally maintaining these pests below threshold levels. The network involves both direct and indirect interactions with subtle behavioral effects that drive the qualitative dynamics of the system.
