Introduction to Geographic Information Systems. Prerequisite: Microsoft Windows experience. This workshop consists of a brief overview of GIS concepts followed by hands-on experience with GIS software (ArcGIS 9.2) to create your own digital map. Learn to join tabular census data to GIS data and construct a thematic map displaying demographic statistics from the U.S. Census. NOTE: This is part one of two. Please register for BOTH workshops.
