Andrew Zhou, piano, presents a recital entitled “3×0.” The program consists of three seminal works from the second half of the 20th century, each written by composers at a time when they were striving to reinvigorate their compositional voice through the exploration of new musical terrain: György Ligeti’s polystylistic Musica Ricercata (plus a clutch of his later etudes), Luciano Berio's ghostly, turbulent Sequenza IV (and the wistful Wasserklavier), and John Adams’s rippling Phrygian Gates.
