Barbara Cruz is a senior government major with minors in Latina/o Studies; Asian American Studies; Inequality Studies; and Crime, Prisons, Education, and Justice. Barbara is a youth educator, advocate, and community-based facilitator with seven years of experience organizing youth across Chicago. In her talk, she will trace her journey into facilitation and discuss best practices for facilitating young people, the importance of listening to those who are often left out of the room, restorative practices in education settings, and the challenges facing young people in cities like Chicago.
