Various farms in Tompkins County, NY
During this FREE 2-day event, 15 farms across Tompkins County, New York will open their gates, barns and pastures to the public for tours, demonstrations, food tastings, and animal interactions! Different farms will be open for tours each day.
2018 Open Farm Days will feature farms that raise bison, heritage pigs, fiber goats and sheep, alpaca, dairy cattle, mushrooms, flowers, grains, fruits and organic vegetables. Visitors can tour two dairies, an apple orchard, a maple sugar bush, a hop farm and brewery, an herb and perennial nursery, and a non-profit "incubator" farm that trains new farmers! There's something of interest for everyone in the family.
Farms on the west side of Cayuga Lake will be open for tours on Saturday, August 11th while farms on the east side of the lake will be open on Sunday, August 12th. Admission to all farms is free. Sorry, dogs are not permitted on the tour. Visitors are encouraged to bring a cooler as many farms will have products for sale, and there are additional farm markets where they may stop along the way.
Photos and detailed information about all the tour sites and designated farm market stops are available online at http://ccetompkins.org/openfarmdays, and the event can be shared with friends on Facebook at: https://www.facebook.com/events/269519360523761/

The site was developed at Cornell Cooperative Extension of Tompkins County, and may be available for use by other non-profits or tourism offices, contact email@example.com for more information.
